TVMA Board Meeting – Conference Call  9/02

Participants -                C. Heintze, Myron R., David Wall, Paul Herzig, David Jalloway, Mike M., B. Moore, Ron Held, Steve White, Bob Magee, Anne Beard, A.J. Thibideaux  

MOTION -                  Motion presented to make C. Heintze the Secretary/Editor.   Motion by Paul Herzig. Second by Myron R.  Motion carried.  

Tax Exempt Status – Ron Held Reporting.  Trouble with this matter.  Currently, TVMA is not able to file for tax exempt status.  TVMA would need to re incorporate as a charity or educational entity.  Then re file with the state and then re file with the IRS.  Total cost for this endeavor not to exceed $2500.  Ron had faxed Theresa the IRS forms.  Myron to complete the forms ASAP.

                                    Motion by Steve White to spend the $2500 for reincorporation expenditures.  Second by Myron R.  Motion carried.  

Conference Update –   Paul Herzig reporting.  Ron Held is handling Industry Night. Currently securing Auction items.  A live auction is to follow the Casino Night.  Need approximately 10-20 items.  Need assistance with the technical responsibilities.  Bruce to obtain a projector.  Myron has a data show.  Paul has speaker needs.  Anne B.  agreed to be the Tech Advisor.  Anne B. asked re field tour update.  Paul H to know something definite this week.  Test plots are still there.  Paul H. to distribute member lists.  C. Heintze to do the newsletters.  Paul H. encourages all Board members to make personal phone calls to increase awareness. Paul H. said there are some issues with the booths – overall there is some interest.  FYI  Paul H. will be gone until 10/26/02.  will still be available by email.  C. Heintze asked how many had signed up for the conference.  Myron reported 50 for the conference and 7 for the training. 

Myron requested that the mail get changed to a new address.  

Nominations –              Paul H resigns effective 9/29/02.  Terms up for AJ Thibideaux, Bruce and Brad.  Bob M is working on the Director’s List.  

CEU Workshop –        David W reporting.  Occurring on 10/11/02 in Lubbuck, TX.  Has received approval from New Mexico and Oklahoma to give CEU credits.  

Suggestion from Myron to keep doing the conference calls.
