Leaders in Vegetation Management!

The Texas Vegetation Management Association, TVMA, was established in
1992 when a group of managers recognized the need for fostering
statewide training and professionalism within the state's vegetation
management industry.

Since then, TVMA membership has grown steadily to include a broad
scope of vegetation managers and other workers who keep our
rights-of-way soundly managed throughout the diverse ecologies
of the Lone Star State.

AN ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP / STANDING COMMITTEES

TVMA is comprised of a volunteer board of directors who oversee standing
committees chaired by members who lend their expertise to the following
areas:

Scholarship:  thousands of dollars in academic scholarships have
been granted to dozens of deserving students majoring in forestry,
range management, and other industry-related disciplines at junior
colleges and universities across Texas.  Corporate contributions, the
annual golf and fishing tournament and other events bring dollars
into the scholarship fund.

Legislative Affairs:  TVMA has set a goal to become the voice of the
vegetation management industry.  Educating the public, policymakers
and business community about issues critical to the vegetation
management industry is an ongoing effort.
TVMA has established an
annual visit with key legislators, staff and state agencies in Austin as
a new program.

Training Opportunities:  outside of the Annual Conference, TVMA
also sponsors training opportunities through which you can receive
Continuing Education Units (CEU's).

Membership:  Although our membership has grown steadily over the years, membership has nearly doubled since expanding our training programs.
The future is optimistic, because as
TVMA programs expand, membership should too!

ANNUAL CONFERENCE & TRAINING CERTIFICATION SEMINAR

Our Annual Conference and Training Certification Seminar, first held i
n 1992, is held in mid to late October at locations throughout Texas.  Concurrent sessions offer the most current information from experts in
their field.  Suppliers and contractors exhibit products and services.  The Annual Conference provides outstanding opportunities to network.
Members receive CEU training credits with the Texas Department of
Agriculture (TDA), International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and/or
Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB).  Additionally, TVMA offers a
two-day examination review conducted by top educators who help new commercial spray applicators prepare for the TDA's on-site certification
testing.

Our 2005 Annual Conference will be Held During
October of 2005 in South Padre Island, Texas

If you can't  come to the conference, keep your membership current by being a  GENERAL MEMBER for only $25 per year.  This keeps you active on our mailing list!
